Thank you for this fascinating article. The success with the kites reminds me of the success with the American Bald Eagle. Although, I haven’t heard any reports yet of attacks on ice cream cones. Not yet anyway.:)

Thank you, Heidi! Yes, I think there are lots of similarities in the conservation success of bald eagles and kites, though I don't believe that DDT was a factor in the kites decline, unlike the eagles. I would love to hear of a bald eagle trying to steal an ice-cream - that would really be something!

Thank you, Jo! Love your writing. Good point about DDT as a main driver toward extinction for Bald Eagles. Poaching and windmill strikes are still threats, but I see them thriving. I will keep you posted if any ice-cream cones are reported stolen.
